Today our documents have been in Thailand 10 months. We started this process 14 months ago.
We also received our quarterly update. We are #3 on The List. Barring an extremely small referral group or a referral group without girls, (neither of which I will think about until it happens) we will get our referral in June. While more waiting is an initial bummer, it takes only a glance at the babies who did get referred to their families to remember what this is all about.
Eventually, there will be no more wait, eventually it will be like Mia was always here and we will forget what life was like before this princess came into our life.
In the meantime - we'll celebrate with families who got referrals, we'll celebrate with families who travel to bring their child (or children) home and we'll learn more Thai!

Well, all this means is that Miss M is just not ready for her family yet. Hang tight gang....#3 is good! Yout time will come and we will all be doing a happy dance for you.

3 is great!!! I know, not as exciting as a match, but still, you were right when you said not long ago that June is right around the corner! : ) You know how fast the end of the school year flies... Hang in there!!!!!

It's hard to wait, isn't it? We have not heard anything yet on our court date. We were hoping to be assigned last week, but no.. Maybe this week?? who knows? Our 171-H expires in July, so if we don't get our court date assigned (and pass) soon, we will have to redo some paperwork. That stinks! But... such is the road of international adoption, huh?

The small referral group (and getting pushed back a quarter) was hard for a lot of us but I know it must have been especially difficult for you since you were right on the line. We can't wait to rejoice with you in June though! We're so excited to see your beautiful daughter's little face and hear all about the moment you got the call.
Terri, i contacted you several months back letting you know that my husband and 2 boys were also adopting a little girl from Thailand through Holt. I amd Ashley and we live in central Arkansas. We were #5 on the list going into the March referrals and I noticed through your blog that you and your family were #6. I knew we were both HOPING we would get a call!!
Well, on the Monday of our spring break we recieved a call from Holt. They were letting us know that our name did not come up in this group of referrals because there were not enough healthy chldren but that they did have a little girl with a minor special need and that if we wanted to research her condition we were welcome to and then get back with them about recieving her referral.
Talk about your world coming to a screeching halt!! Over the next few days we went through information overload and were constantly in prayer about wheather or not to proceed. On Thursday we had decided that we were very interested in the possibility of chosing this ;itt;e girl, so that afternoon Holt emailed us her picture and rest of her referal and it was love at first sight. We knew she was ment to be in our family!
I say all that to say that i thought about your family during this process and I was glad ti know that by us chosing this little girl that it would put your family one step closer to getting a referral and bringing your baby home!
When we started this process we were thinking a September referral date and look at us now! Hang in there, i know you are sooo excited and anxious to see your baby's sweet face!
